Lead partner institution
Swansea University is the lead partner of the EnAlgae project. It offers cutting-edge laboratory facilities and expertise for the production, characterisation and downstream processing of algal biomass, partnered with unique mechanistic modelling know-how that enables rapid optimization and economic evaluation of algal biomass and bioenergy production. The University has several microalgal photobioreactors on-site and co-localised with local aquaculture and heavy industry that form one of the nine demonstration facilities within the EnAlgae pilot network. It will also play a significant role in engaging with end-users and developing the Algal Information Network and associated decision support tool. As lead partner, Swansea University is responsible for the management, centralised publicity and finance functions of the project.
