Decision support tool
The Centre for Low Carbon Research is one of 13 centres of excellence at Birmingham City University. The centre’s bioenergy research group combines fundamental research with business engagement, product and process innovation and knowledge transfer. The group is currently engaged in a number of applied research projects investigating the cultivation of biomass (microalgae) and its conversion into bioenergy (biofuels and biogas). As a partner in the project, CLCR will be leading the development of a decision support system. Using expertise within its knowledge-based engineering and bioenergy groups, this innovative and interactive tool will empower a range of stakeholders (from operators to policy makers) to make more accurate and informed decisions about bioenergy provision in the future.
